Communication at the centre

Sara Piloto has experienced many of the stages that PASO has travelled over time and, at the same time, has grown with the company, in a fundamental role for both external communication and between the departments themselves. It has thus become the “connection” between the various souls of society, between creativity and technique, between inside and outside.

Since joining the company in 1998, Sara Piloto has been a fundamental connection between the departments and the people of the company: between the technical and technological part, or rather the R&D department known as the “laboratory” that deals with development and product design, and Production, which deals with their production strictly in-house, but also between these departments, the people who work there, and the outside world, i.e. customers and partners.

Sara tells us: “I mainly deal with layout and illustrate the technical documentation of the products but, in recent years, I have expanded the business by creating graphics for fairs, for our social profiles and for the website, which I take care of. ‘updating the layout of catalogues, price lists and advertising brochures.” It is difficult to describe a typical day for her, precisely because she deals with a variety of things that lead her every day, to use different facets of her skills. In short, she never gets bored!

But what do you like about your work? “It has evolved a lot over the years, both technically and in terms of content. I like to deal with graphic design because it allows me to create technical documents that have their own pleasantness, in line with the image of the company and that is fun and, at the same time, readable, functional for those who browse them and want to find the information they want immediately. My training as a studio artist has proved to be very useful, especially to make the technical details of what we do easier to communicate.”

All this has been translated, over the years, with the active participation in the corporate communication strategy, initially with the management of offline communication, to then also add online communication, first with the site and then with social networks: a fundamental link, the one between offline and digital communication which, creating a continuum that is not taken for granted, is central to disseminating an overall corporate vision, combining the need for information with communication.

We conclude with a reflection by Sara, as it is always a pleasure to hear from a member of the company staff: “After 23 years in Paso, it is now like being in the family.”
