This Baroque church is linked to the legend known as “El Tredesìn de Mars” and to the story of the beginnings of Christianity in Milan city. Its aisle floor does contain the Stone of 13 Noches and it is said that on March 13th of the year 51 AD, in an area just outside Milan – where the Celtic tradition was still alive – Saint Barnaba positioned in the centre of the Stone the Cross and preached the Evangel where the pagans were used to gather. The Saint anniversary is still celebrated nowadays, every year, with a religious ceremony and with the flowers market set up near the church, to symbolize the beginning of spring.
