PMS2000-VES Voice Evacuation Systems IEC60849
System compliant and certified with the EN60849 standards
To the operational characteristics of a “normal” PA system, the PMS2000-VES security system adds specific control and alarm features.
Without quoting the whole regulation, we can report that, in order to meet the requirements specified by the regulation itself, an evacuation system must include:
• Control and supervision of the integrity of the ‘critical path’.
Such path is the audio path from the emergency microphone capsule and/or the message generator,
to the loudspeaker line through the amplification stage: any failures of the microphone capsule, its connection cable to the console, the amplifiers and the
loudspeaker line must be reported as specified.
A specific indication of fault events must be report from the system within 100 seconds
.
• Possibility to operate without main power supply at the maximum power for 30 minutes at least and for 24 hours in stand-by conditions.
A secondary power supply line is
to be provided for.
• The system must be able to store up to 100 failure conditions on a non volatile memory, with date/hour/minutes/seconds indications.
• Digital control of the critical path, including:
• Control of the capsule of the microphone console (PMB130-V)
• Control of the connection between the alarm console and the PA system
• Control of the alarm and alert message generator (PM2061-V module)
• Operational control of VES modules (modules with –V suffix)
• Operational control of power amplifiers (Series PMW with internal PM2092-V board)
• Control of the loudspeaker lines (constant voltage output lines).
PM2094-V End of line supervision board.
• Simultaneous broadcast of the evacuation and alarm messages on different zones
• Alarm Login (up to 100) in the CPU non-volatile memory (PM2021-V module)
• Software-programmable I/O functions, to manage failures and alarms
(PM2093-V and PM2093/-VL modules with 8 inputs and 8 outputs)
• Control through PC, connected to the RS232 serial line, of the programming and
management of the whole system
• Control through console (PMB130-V) with display, buzzer, warning signal,
mechanical key for manual intervention on the installation, visualization of the
alarm status for each zone (evacuation and/or alert).
• Management of back-up amplifiers (PM2095-V board)
• Power Low function, reducing the power consumption of the amplifiers in
stand-by conditions
• Disabling of the background music in absence of main power supply to increase the
system operational time range.
